Frequently Asked Questions

While Google looks at a given page for many factors, its search algorithm now evaluates user experience. Each of your website’s pages is graded based on how quickly they load, are responsive to users, and the visual stability of each page’s layout. Learn more about Google's Core Web Vitals here.

Search algorithms like Google send robots to your website to read, evaluate, and index pages. This is how they know where to place a given page in the results for certain queries. But scanning web pages takes time. Even for robots. There are more pages added to the internet every day than Google’s robots have time to crawl. Their solution is to allocate a “crawl budget” to use its bots in the most effective way possible.

A “crawl budget” is the number of pages a robot crawls and indexes on a website within a given timeframe, usually each session that a bot would browse your site. If Google doesn’t index a page, it’s not going to rank in search results.

Yes. Google’s popular PageSpeed Insights test is one we use extensively. While the current version of the test does not provide an overall number for page load times, it does, however, measure the times for individual Core Web Vitals metrics and provides insight for which resources may be slowing things down the most for web browsers. It also provides an overall grade for page performance out of 100. Read more about website page speed in this blog post.
