Silverback Strategies is a growth-oriented performance marketing agency located just five minutes outside Washington, D.C. in Old Town, Alexandria. We’ve been listed in Ad Age’s Best Places to Work, Washingtonian Magazine’s 50 Great Places to Work and The Washington Business Journal’s Great Places to Work.

We have also made the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States every year since 2015.

We depend on new ideas and innovative thinking from every employee, every day. We’re casual, collaborative and busy — and we’re ready to add a new member to our Content team.

As the Content Marketing Manager at Silverback Strategies, you will play a key role in developing, executing and measuring Content Marketing and Editorial SEO programs for our clients.

The ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator with proven writing, editing and proofreading skills; has experience managing successful content projects; and collaborates effectively with internal and external partners. A positive attitude and a willingness to adapt at the pace of an aggressively-growing agency and constantly-evolving industry are required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a creative strategist and project manager who plans and executes all aspects of internal and external content work for select Silverback clients on budget and on deadline.
  • Think strategically, work collaboratively and execute decisively on Content Marketing, Editorial SEO and Social Media campaigns for our clients and our agency.
  • Regularly coordinate, confer and collaborate with members of our internal Creative, Sales, SEO and Paid Media teams.
  • Maintain an expert-level understanding of content marketing and social media marketing while developing a strong understanding of organic search and paid media best practices
  • Make strategic recommendations regarding tools and opportunities related to lead generation, lead nurturing, marketing automation, social media and content management.
  • Identify and manage freelance talent to support client work when needed.

  • 2+  years’ experience in content marketing, journalism or a related field. Agency experience preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing and related software. Relevant certifications are great but a verifiable track record of success is a key differentiator.
  • Verifiable experience managing external client relationships.
  • Very strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A portfolio of successful content marketing projects that you can discuss in detail.
