Content Marketing Associate

We are seeking a talented and ambitious entry level Content Marketing Associate who can play an important role in the growth and development of Silverback Strategies’ creative team.

The right person for this position will play a key role in executing the appropriate “voice” for Silverback and its clients on a variety of platforms. The position will emphasize written content and communication, including white papers, blog posts, social media posts, video scripts, website copy, digital advertising copy and email marketing projects.

The Content Marketing Associate will also support Silverback’s linkbuilding / outreach efforts. Our team will provide training to help the right candidate become a linkbuilding expert. The ability to craft clear, concise email messages is a must.

The Content Marketing Associate must be a versatile and outstanding writer. The ability to write creative, diverse and engaging copy on a tight schedule will set the ideal candidate apart from the pack. An intuitive understanding of audience is a must. A solid grasp on PR, SEO, social media and content marketing is also valued.

We expect the Content Marketing Associate to embrace the speed and creativity required by this new position at one of the Washington, D.C. region’s fastest-growing agencies. The right person for this role will thrive in this fast-paced industry while enjoying the opportunity to work on a multitude of public-facing projects.

Prior agency experience is not required.

Responsibilities:

We will trust you to be, in many cases, the voice of our agency.

You will work closely with Silverback’s content and creative teams to craft written content for every digital platform. You will have a mix of regularly-scheduled deliverables and deadline projects for our clients and the agency. You will be responsible for hands-on linkbuilding efforts while supporting additional initiatives for our SEO, Paid Media and Sales teams.

We will rely on you for strategic feedback and recommendations on best practices as your experience grows.

What You’ll Do:

  • Write blog posts, social media posts, website copy, digital advertising copy and email marketing projects for Silverback and our clients on an as-needed basis.
  • Play the lead role in our linkbuilding efforts. This includes identifying appropriate linkbuilding targets, executing outreach campaigns, tracking engagement, building relationships and ultimately building external links for our clients’ content.
  • Research Silverback’s industry and the industries of our clients in order to understand the competitive creative environment.
  • Learn and apply the best practices of digital content creation, digital copywriting, SEO and inbound marketing to your work.
  • Provide content measurement as needed.
  • Join in creative brainstorming sessions.

Requirements:

  • In lieu of professional experience, recent college graduates with a relevant 4-year degree and an outstanding writing portfolio will be considered serious candidates.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in public relations, marketing, journalism or any related communication field.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to create engaging creative content for different audiences on tight deadlines.
  • The personal discipline to manage and develop our linkbuilding program.
  • Genuine curiosity that will guide the research to inform your creative and linkbuilding work.
  • Outstanding time management and organization skills.
  • Proofreading skills are a legitimate plus.
  • The ability to work solo and with a team as needed.
  • The ability to accept editing in a professional manner and to learn from your edits.
  • Comfort with constant personal and professional growth.
