Every now and then, Google likes to build an Easter egg into their search engine.  Try searching for “the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.”  Start typing “do a barrel roll” into the search engine, and you will get a taste of a vintage video game.  Sometimes the easter eggs are minor, yet clever (see what you get when you search “anagram”.

The newest of the Google Easter Eggs to come out is the new Bacon Number feature.  What’s a bacon number?  It comes from the infamous “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,” a game that seeks to prove that any individual involved in the film industry can be linked through their film roles to Kevin Bacon within six steps.  This all stems from an interview Kevin Bacon held back in ’94 where he jokingly claimed that he had worked with everybody in Hollywood, or somebody that has worked with them.

Google Bacon Number

To quickly get the Bacon Number of any actor, head on over to the search engine and type “bacon number” followed by the name of any Hollywood type, and see how they are indeed connected to Kevin Bacon!  You will be hard pressed to find any actor beyond a bacon number of 2 or 3.
